Microsoft Campus Agreement
Microsoft software covered under the Campus Agreement
The Microsoft Campus Agreement only applies to staff of University of Galway and/or PCs located on campus with work-at-home rights for permanent staff of University of Galway. It does not cover PCs owned privately by students. University of Galway has a Microsoft campus licence which is subject to renewal on 31-May.

Installation media for Windows 10 is available on request. Staff can borrow installation CD/DVD from the Service Desk. Staff and Students are obliged to sign a licence_agreement_form__microsoft_sep07.
Note: If you buy a new computer, you must purchase a base operating system from the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). You cannot buy a ’blank’ machine and use the campus agreement to install the operating system.

Software Assurance is included for all software which means that software updates will be received for the duration of the agreement.
Software is licensed for all languages. Please note that there is an additional charge for foreign language installation CDs.

Staff
Staff can borrow installation media from the Service Desk. If you borrow Microsoft software, you are obliged to sign a licence_agreement_form__microsoft_sep07.
Students
Microsoft software is available to Postgraduate researchers for on-campus use only i.e. researchers who have a desktop computer linked to the campus network (excluding wireless connections). Please contact the Service Desk borrow installation CD/DVD. If you borrow Microsoft Office software, you are obliged to sign a licence_agreement_form__microsoft_sep07.
Students - ISS are pleased to announce the new Microsoft Student Advantage program. Because of the University's enterprise agreement with Microsoft, students are able to download and install desktop applications on up to 5 devices using their Office 365 account.
Students have access to Office Web Apps on the Microsoft Office 365 Student eMail service
Microsoft Azure
Students can also avail of deals on certain software for use on their own personal devices from various software resellers

Can I install Microsoft software on my home computer?
Yes, for permanent staff members only and only on University PCs. Staff who have the right to use software under this deal may also install and use MS Office Professional, Project and Back Office CALs on one computer they own (as opposed to the University) irrespective of whether the machine is a desktop or laptop machine located at work or at home for University related business. (Note: this is only valid for the duration of the Campus Agreement). Installation media are available from the Service Desk. If you borrow Microsoft Office software, you are obliged to sign a licence_agreement_form__microsoft_sep07.
