In May, we welcomed students from across the country on campus to take part in our Hospitality Skills Development Course, “An Introduction to Hospitality”.

The students explored the art of accommodation services, creating towel art and floral arrangements. We joined the kitchen team in creating some delicious dishes, tasting herbs, and decorating plates. The restaurant opened our eyes to the coffee industry, becoming baristas for the day and learning all about table settings and tray carrying.
We finished the event with an overview of skills for work life, cv and interview prep, quizzes and a team building experience! 

Thank you to our fantastic staff and students for assisting with the running of this successful event! Curating sessions which allowed students to delve into the pockets of hospitality. 

Finally, it was a pleasure to meet you all! We hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did, gaining new skills and friendships. We look forward to seeing you taking up part time work within the industry and most importantly, we hope to welcome some familiar faces back on campus in the very near future as students of Shannon College of Hotel Management!
