Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences

Blended learning at University of Galway offers Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences programmes which will introduce you to the study of languages, literature, community education, training and education and many other exciting areas. We work to expand your confidence in developing innovative and creative forms of thought, in assessing evidence and probabilities and in making informed, critical judgments. Communication, learning to write and speak persuasively is central to the Humanities area. Students in the Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences area should have a strong appetite for reading and analysis, and be eager to explore different kinds of knowledge and to consider the informed published views of others, and finally to articulate and defend their own opinions and judgment.

Our diploma programmes are usually two years in duration, where you will specialise in one particular subject area, while the degree programmes are four years in duration offering a choice of subjects and modules to study. The Bachelor of Arts programmes provides you with a flexible study route, with exit awards at certificate (one year), diploma (two years) and degree level (four years).
