The Centre for Adult Learning and Professional Development aims to advance the lifelong learning needs of adult learners. The Centre provides for the continuing professional development needs of our region through the delivery of up-skilling opportunities to people who want to take modules on a standalone basis. We serve four groups of people: professionals who wish to upskill; employers who want to develop the skills of their staff; professional bodies that manage accreditation for their members; and course coordinators who deliver training.

We are located in Nuns’ Island on the south campus of the University of Galway, and have a cross-campus remit to liaise between industry, University staff and learners, and contribute to reaching the aims of the National Skills Strategy.
