Conferring Ceremonies for Adult Learners
The Centre for Adult Learning & Professional Development Conferring Ceremonies will take place over two sessions on Saturday 26th November 2022 in the Bailey Allen Hall, Áras na Mac Léinn on the University of Galway campus - No.8 on the Campus Map below.
Live Streaming
This event will be live-streamed on the day, you can watch it on the video link here. A room will be also available on the day beside the main conferring hall for family & friends to view the ceremony if they wish – details to follow.

*All graduands must be gowned and seated half an hour before the start of each session.
Outstanding Fees Deadline
The deadline for the payment of outstanding fees is Monday, November 13th, 2022. Please ensure any outstanding fees, penalties, library fines etc. are paid by deadline in order to be eligible to attend the Conferring.
Parchment Name
Please ensure your name is correct for the issue of parchments (this includes accents, apostrophes, etc.). To ensure your name is correct you should check your Registration Statement and/or Transcript of Results to confirm.
Tickets
All graduands are entitled to 2 guest tickets only. Unfortunately, requests for additional tickets cannot be facilitated at this event. Please contact your Course Administrator for all other information. General queries on the ceremonies can be directed to adultlearningconferring@universityofgalway.ie
Robes
All graduates must pre-book robes with the official robe-makers, Phelan Conan Limited before Midnight Sunday 20th November 2022. Robes may be pre-booked online at www.phelanconan.com. The pre-paid hire fee is €45 or Pay on the day hire fee is €50.
Due to the implementation of a personal 3D secure password during the credit card payment process on https://www.phelanconan.com Phelan Conan Ltd staff are no longer able to take bookings over the phone. This has been created to protect your online payments and if you don’t already have a 3D secure password you can activate it by following the simple instructions during the booking process. If you experience any further problems with 3D secure process, please contact your bank.
Robes can be collected on the day from G001, Human Biology Building, University Galway at the below times,
Between 8AM – 11AM for the 11AM Ceremony
Between 11.30am – 2PM for the 2PM ceremony
Cash will not be accepted. All gowns must be returned to Phelan Conan as soon as possible after the conclusion of the ceremony.
